I don’t typically run out to see new movies the first weekend they are out, but in the past two week I have made some exceptions. I rushed to the theatre to see Daniel Craig (be still my heart) in Quantum of Solace, and then last weekend we did a Girl’s Night and went to see Twilight. Now, before I go any further, let me just say, I am NOT a Twilight girl. I have read a few of the books, only to see what all the fuss was about, but I do not own a Twilight t-shirt, I did not go to the midnight showing, and I do NOT dream about falling in love with a vampire (No offense to any of Twilight lovers who might be reading my blog).
Naturally, when you see two new movies right in a row there’s going to be some comparison. Unfortunately for Twilight, there is no comparison here. Quantum of Solace wins, hands down folks. Twilight is so out of its league on this one. Quantum is action-packed and has some very talented actors. On the other hand, I’m pretty sure Twilight used actors from a high school drama club and I’ve seen better special effects on the Teletubbies. I literally laughed through Twilight. It was so bad—I couldn’t stop laughing.

James Bond vs. Edward Cullen
Hmmm…I wonder what would happen if Daniel Craig’s James Bond got into a fight with Edward Cullen? That would be a pretty good fight, but sorry Edward, James Bond would kick your trash…and he would look way better doing it.
Well, I guess that settles it. Moral of the story: If I was in need of a resuce (or a boyfriend) I’d pick the secret agent over the vampire any day of the week.

You are so funny! I'm not one to get into "trendy" things, so I'm not into Twilight either. Sam met Stephanie Meyer a few years ago at a book conference and he wasn't too impressed by her books, so I never read them. Although I admit that part of me is curious to see what they are really like, because there are a lot of obsessed women and I think it is really strange!
I would totally choose Mr. 007 over Mr. Cullen any day of the week. And you can quote me on that.
We are so alike in many ways, yet here is where we go our separate ways...Edward is the only one for me. I just read all 4 books in August and I couldn't put them down. I was totally hooked. Yes, I have a "Team Edward" t-shirt to match my sisters. I do have to say that movie Edward wasn't the best choice, although I don't think he was the worst choice either, but I think most of us had a different one in our imaginations. So going by that, I'd have to say that QofS may be the last 007 movie because Edward would KILL him, hands down!
That said, yes, I'm not blinded by the fact that the movie wasn't the best movie ever. Like you said, it had a low budget, new actors still learning, etc... But I still loved it just because it brought a story I loved to life and I didn't go in with high expectations since I've been disappointed by doing that before...movies will NEVER be as good as the books, and I knew Twilight would be the same. I think it's fair to say that you are more likely to love the movie if you loved the books. And that I do! :)

Oh how you speak the words of my heart! I am going to make my own T-shirt that says "Honk if the Twilight Books Bug You" I know that doesn't have anything to do with Team Edward/Jacob, but it definitely captures how I feel about the Twilight series. I am probably going to receive hate mail now, but I have read all 4 books and the only reason I read them was to satisfy that little part of the human psyche that stares at horrific car accidents. I have not seen the movie, but I look forward to the mockery that is sure to ensue...
I am not sure we can be best friends anymore.
